The Secret History

If one spends the time to really examine history, one comes away with some disquieting facts.  Behind the characters in our histories, there often stand mysterious beings behind them.  Let's look at Dr. John Dee as an example of this.  Dee did more than any other one person to pursue the British conquest and colonization of North America.  It was he that coined the very phrase British Empire, but more than that he came up with the idea, he persuaded Queen Elizabeth I of the use and worthiness of such an endeavor, and drew up maps that were instrumental in the exploration of North America.  Dee even came up with the legal justification of British North America, as ancient Celts had discovered and settled there before other Europeans (according to some old legends Dee dug up), and therefore the continent was rightfully theirs.  Even the concept of Manifest Destiny had it's basis in the thought of John Dee.

Now, sure, we can all be impressed by the magnificent brilliance of Dr. Dee, but then we'd be missing part of the story.  Frankly, the best part.  Where did Dr. John Dee get these ideas from?  Well, that's simple...angels told him...but not just any angels, these angels were witnessed by either Dee or, most usually, by his associate Sir Edward Kelly, in Dee's shewstone (given to Dee, as Dee tells us, by the Archangel Uriel).  But, even that's not the full story.  Kelly did not trust the angelic beings he saw, nor did he believe that they were, in fact angels, or at least that they weren't angels anymore. But the pious Dee would hear none of such talk.  These angels did far more than insist that Dee use his every influence to convince the Queen of the importance of British America, they also taught him the powerful angelic language and alphabet, Enochian, as you no doubt know, which revolutionized the practice of magick itself.

Now, with the whole picture in place of the events of the late 1500's, we start to see another view of history...the magickal view...how mysterious beings of questionable nature, origin, and intent have manipulated human history for their own purposes.  History is filled with stories of where one person revolutionized society, and often behind them mysterious forces.  The Nazi rise to power in Germany had occult roots in German secret societies.  Thomas Jefferson claimed that a mysterious, black-robbed individual appeared in his garden at Monticello and gave him the prototype of the Great Seal of the United States.

What other events have taken place at the urging of non-human intelligences?  What are their motivations?  Are they in humanity's best interests?  Or to forward their own secret agenda?  I fear that soon, we may learn more than we care to know in this regard...
